“Throughout the project, I was astonished by the energy, creativity, wisdom, wit, and judgment exercised by JBS in fulfilling their contract. They transformed a training function into a program redesign, training, and evaluation without any additional cost. You can count on them!” Director, New York State Office of Mental Health

Established in 1985, JBS International, Inc. (JBS), is a women-owned business that provides a broad and diverse set of management and information technology services to public- and private-sector clients. From the outset, JBS has focused on understanding the specific health, social, and education needs of people across the lifespan and from all walks of life. To better understand our clients’ needs—and to meet them effectively—JBS applies science- and evidence-based principles to the delivery of a broad range of professional services. During the past several years, expansion of our existing business base and entry into new markets have bolstered our position as a leader in strengthening the systems that improve people’s lives around the world.
Corporate Culture
JBS’s commitment to high-quality work—and life—is the cornerstone of our corporate culture. JBS is committed to enriching the lives of people through a solid commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
In the Community
JBS has a longstanding commitment to being a good citizen in the communities in which our offices are based. Our employees also find fulfillment in pursuing a variety of volunteer activities.
Aguirre Division
In 2005, JBS acquired Aguirre International and the Aguirre Group, LLC. Founded by Dr. Edward Aguirre, Commissioner of Education under President Ford, the Aguirre companies allow us to provide our clients with a broad range of expertise and experience and add new agencies to our client base. These new clients include the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of Education, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Stellar Division
In 2008, JBS acquired the Stellar Corporation of Vienna, VA. Stellar, founded in 1994, is a health information technology firm. Now a division of JBS, Stellar provides services to Federal clients as well as biotech and pharmaceutical firms. Stellar’s work with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and commercial clients includes development and harmonization of health data standards and support for initiatives to streamline reporting, analyzing, and communicating of adverse events related to clinical research and post-market safety surveillance. These initiatives include the Safety Reporting Portal, currently under development for the FDA and NIH.
Executive Officers
“We started JBS because we wanted to build a firm that reflected our personal commitment to doing work that supports systemic change and helps improve people’s lives. And we wanted to create a strengths-based corporate culture that holds each individual in high regard, values each person’s contribution, and emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and relationship building, both internally and with our clients. Our proudest accomplishment? We are achieving what we set out to do.” Gail Bassin and Jerri Shaw, Co-CEOs
