Information Technology Services

“Our focus is the solution, not the technology.”
Latif Khalil, Director, Software Development, JBS International, Inc.

Proven innovation versus bleeding-edge technology.

The key to the success of JBS Information Technology (IT) Services lies in our understanding of the distinction between proven innovation and the often-empty promises of technology’s bleeding edge. We focus on real-world technology solutions that are custom designed to best fit the client’s needs. We emphasize accessibility, practicality, and security.

JBS offers a broad range of capabilities, bolstered by our recent acquisition of Stellar Corporation. Look to JBS for expert assistance in:

Our IT staff is expert in the most current development frameworks and languages, network platforms, database systems, interactive technologies, and enterprise collaboration and content management systems. When it’s a question of technology, JBS stands ready with an answer.

“Although my team has extensive knowledge of Web Services, SML, and the C# programming language, they had limited experience with the Trimble software and no experience with ArcObjects. We decided that instead of spending the time for the team to learn ArcObjects and the complexities of GIS we would hire Bob [JBS Employee] to help us in this area.

Bob was a critical asset to the team! His extensive experience with GIS and ArcObjects, his willingness to listen to what the project needed, and his ability to teach others was instrumental to the success (on time/on budget) of Phase 1 of the Roadside Features Inventory Project. I can honestly say that without Bob on the team, this success would not have been possible.”
—WA State DOT Project Officer, 2006

What We Do & Why We Do It: Spotlight on Chevron

Screenshots of Chevron online training courseWhen Chevron was developing its standardized Operational Excellence process to enable its 78,000 employees to safely perform essential physical, psychological, and cognitive requirements of their job, JBS was there. We designed, developed, and now maintain Chevron Corporation’s online Fitness for Duty GO-308 Developer Training and Certification program, which enables Chevron employees to safely perform a variety of essential job requirements.

“This project reinforces Chevron’s concern for their employees being able to safely perform their jobs without risk to themselves, to others, or to the environment,” explains Lolly Wonnacott, who works with JBS’s IT Services. “Working with them has been a very rewarding experience.”

The online training itself consists of 15 modules that include quizzes, interactive exercises, and a scored test and analysis. The course is customized to meet Chevron’s branding guidelines and uses an extensive assessment survey. It incorporates a variety of proven learning theories to deliver a self-paced, individualized, interactive training experience. Help desk access and subject matter experts are only a mouse click away, and the course supports multiple languages.

In addition, JBS designed and developed Chevron’s desktop GO-308 Builder tool, which conducts job demands analyses and generates a report that is submitted to an online data warehouse. Before this tool’s development, analysts had to visit remote worksites and conduct extensive videotaping to support their analyses. Now, with the GO-308 Builder tool, what once took 16 hours to finish can be completed in 4.

“We solve problems that might not be obvious or that touch on areas of an organization’s culture. Our technology solutions work to keep people and process in harmony.”
Lolly Wonnacott, Information Technology Services, Aguirre Division, JBS International, Inc.
